Intersect Keynote Speaker: Saul Flores!

By: Evelyn Ealey

This week’s leadership spotlight features the keynote speaker for the Intersect Conference; Saul Flores! Flores has traveled to over 250 universities as a keynote speaker including University of North Carolina, Duke University, and his alma mater North Carolina State University. He will be sharing his story and personal journey with Elon students during the Intersect Conference on Friday September 22! Flores is a nationally recognized philanthropist, photojournalist, and speaker who has been featured on National Public Radio, MSNBC, and TEDX. He uses his experiences as a Latin American immigrant and first generation college student to fuel his thought provoking speeches. His heritage also impacts his philanthropic projects, which often aim to uplift and bring awareness to immigrant stories. In Flores' most recent project, he walked 5,328 miles through ten countries photographing the cultures and communities he encountered to raise money for an elementary school in Atencigno, Mexico. His photos documented the grueling process of immigration, captured raw emotions, the sense of community, and hardship of the people he encountered.

Flores travels to universities to inspire the young generation to take action and create a better world for everyone. We are excited for Flores to bring his wealth of knowledge and expertise to the Elon, and the Center for Leadership hopes to see you at Intersect from 2pm-3pm!
