Leadership Spotlight: Alli Brandon
This week's leadership spotlight highlights Alli Brandon, a first-year Teaching Fellow and Office Assistant at CFL. Alli is majoring in Elementary Education and minoring in Early Childhood Education.
She also participates in Fire of the Carolinas Marching Band in the Flute Ensemble, Music for Dementia, LEAF, and The "It Takes A Village" Project.
As an Office Assistant at CFL, Alli wants to take initiative and contribute ideas for events and programming. This year, she planned the Our Shelf to Yours themed for Earth Week. This event combined sustainability and leadership, which are two things she is interested in.
She hopes to be a leader in the classroom, showing a new generation of students how to navigate the world and change it for the better.
Alli's favorite leader has always been her grandmother. Alli's grandma spent her whole life in a coal mining town. She was an opera singer and had to give up Julliard to raise a family, so she found ways around the community to express herself and improve things for everyone living there. She is Alli's constant reminder that no matter your circumstances, there are ways to make a difference, and that when you make things better for others you are making them better for yourself, too.
