New Podcast - Discovering your passions through opportunities and challenges

The CFL shared a new podcast episode titled “Discovering your Passions through Opportunities and Challenges.” In this episode, the guest, Andrew Moffa, Assistant Director of the Kernodle Center, shared his experiences and insights in working at the Kernodle Center which serves as a hub for service learning and community engagement opportunities for students to enhance their experiences at Elon and beyond

The episode generally focuses on how mentors can assist individuals in navigating challenges and uncertainties, providing advice that not only offers solutions but also instills confidence to progress and grow. I wholeheartedly agree with this perspective. Sometimes, just having someone to talk to can provide the encouragement and strength needed to move forward, even if they don't provide a direct solution.

The topic discussed is quite intriguing, particularly for students like me who encounter numerous challenges in life. While I may have solutions to some problems, there are instances where I feel unsure of the right course of action, leaving me feeling lost. Hearing Andrew share his own similar experiences was a relief; it made me realize that I'm not alone in my struggles. One piece of advice from the podcast that resonated with me was the importance of finding a mentor. Andrew suggested that mentors could be professors, faculty overseeing clubs or organizations, or even peers.

I found this episode both informative and engaging, learning valuable insights along the way. I highly recommend it to other students exploring more stories and insights on finding passion amidst difficult situations, I encourage you to check out Leaderpod on Spotify!
