Newest Addition to the CFL: Alli Brandon!

By: Evelyn Ealey

This week’s leadership spotlight features one of the Center for Leadership's newest additions, Alli Brandon. She is a first-year Elementary Education major with a minor in Early Childhood Education. Alli is actively involved in many aspects of student life on campus including being a Teaching Fellow and an Office Assistant in the Center for Leadership. She also serves in the Alamance community outside of campus in her childcare and teaching positions.

Although Alli is just beginning her Elon journey, she has taken many opportunities to be a leader on and off campus, which has brought her new knowledge as to what best defines leadership. To her, leadership is best defined as being the change that you want to see in the world. Alli hopes to carry out her ideas to make a difference by educating the younger generation and continuing to pursue her career as an elementary school teacher. She believes being a leader within her community is significant because no matter what you are doing, you are setting an example. Alli is always striving to set a good example for her peers, especially the young children she has the privilege of teaching.

Alli shared that her favorite leader is the founder of the American Red Cross, Clara Barton. Barton has been Alli’s favorite leader since she was in first grade because Barton risked her life for others and created opportunities for women during a time in which there were very few. Alli carries that same sense of selflessness and determination with her everyday in hopes to one day become a great leader like Clara Barton.
